Our Founding

Bright Minds Tutoring was founded in 2025 by Salahdiin Adan, a student who recognized the growing educational disparities in our community. What began as a small initiative to help a few classmates quickly grew into a full-fledged tutoring organization serving students across Colorado.

Our mission is simple: to provide high-quality, personalized tutoring completely free of charge to students who need it most. We believe that every student deserves access to educational support, regardless of their family's financial situation.

"Education is the great equalizer. By providing free tutoring, we're helping level the playing field for students who might otherwise fall behind."

— Salahdiin Ahmed Adan, Founder

Why We Do It

The COVID-19 pandemic exacerbated existing educational inequalities, with many students falling significantly behind in core subjects like math and science. We saw firsthand how these learning gaps affected our peer's confidence and future opportunities.

Our volunteer tutors are passionate about reversing this trend. We focus not just on academic improvement, but also on rebuilding students' confidence in their abilities. Many of our tutors come from similar backgrounds as the students we serve, allowing us to create meaningful connections and serve as relatable role models.
